There are a number of quests available in The Sims FreePlay that unlock new content and features. Remember that you will need to have completed all of these quests in the order received to unlock the quests that follow, particularly if you are already above the appropriate level to unlock the quest. E.g. You will not have access to The Mysterious Island quest without first having completed the Ocean View Estate quest. If a new quest is added to the game in which you have already past the point it would become unlocked, it will be added as the next one in your queue.
Some quests will not automatically be added to your queue. These quests will require you to meet some additional requirement to initiate, such as building a particular building or speaking to a particular Sim in your Town. You can perform most of these quests in any order and alongside the Main Quests as long as the requirements are met. Note only one Discovery Quest can be active at a time.

Q: I can’t complete some of the Social Goals in Another Simtown’s town. What can I do?
A: You likely will not be able to complete all goals in one town - you’ll need a number of friends who have a range of items that can fulfill your goal requirements, such as swimming pools. If you can’t complete a goal, you can always skip it or ask your friends to upgrade their town to help you complete your goal.
