When attempting to help customers in Professions by using a specific workstation, you may be unable to perform that task as it says 'Workstation in use' - even if no workstation appears to be in use.
What can be done?
Return to another Sim's house and then go back to the Professions lot. If this does not work, please try reinstalling the game.

- Attach your video as a screenshot so we can replicate your issue and try to resolve the problem
What's causing this?
