Hi Racers,
We are aware of community concerns regarding cheating and suspicious behavior in Race Teams competitions, and have been following this issue and the resulting comments closely. First and foremost, we want to assure you that your feedback is appreciated, and that we take reports such as these very seriously even though we can’t always reply to every comment or query.
We have been working on various methods and solutions to address this issue for some time. As things currently stand, we do investigate reports of suspicious behavior and individuals and teams are banned from the game if we do find that they have been cheating - however we are working towards improving and making changes to both the client and our servers, which will support systems already in place for detecting abnormal behavior.
In the next few updates, we will be incrementally rolling out fixes to continue to address cheating in its various forms. One of these changes, to be introduced in the next update (5.1) is the requirement to be online for your contribution to count towards your team’s score. Progress towards Race Team events while offline will no longer contribute to your team's score. This change was worked into the development of update 5.1, with the update being finalized last year.
This change is only the first of several as our team works hard to ensure the integrity of the Race Teams system in the future. We fully intend to roll out more changes and fixes as they are developed over the coming months. This may seem like a slow process, as updates are worked on well in advance, but we are very much committed to crafting long-term solutions to these problems, rather than a quick fix that could cause more issues than it solves.
Again, we thank you for your continued support as we keep developing Real Racing.
